Unemployment And Redundancy Reach Record Levels
Before I start I want to assure you that it is not my intention to overwhelm you with negative thoughts and strike fear into your heart! I hope that you appreciate that in order to improve your finacial situation you must initially be aware the severity of the current situation.
According to the BBC News resource unemployment figures for the united kingdom rose from 1.4 million to 1.82 million between May 2005 and November 2008. This is an increase of 30 in just over a 3 year period. In the same post economist James Knightly predicts that this value could rise as high as 2.5 million by 2010 a further increase of 37.
The statistics are equally alarming in the US Canada and Australia to name but a few countries with similar economic challenges.
So what does this mean for individual’s in jobs at the moment? Should they worry about losing their jobs and the income that they currently depend on?
I often ponder what the news broadcasters hopes to gain by providing us with these statistics. We only ever get told the bad news and never seem to receive support direction and constructive advice through the media. So is there another way?
There are plenty of companies willing to consolidate your debt’ or give you money for your home’ and even give you no win no fee’ legal advice! These businesses are clearly able to capitalise on the unstable economy and changes in public perceptions so how can we do the same? Do you believe the owners of these companies accept all of the negativity that is portrayed in the media?
I want you to consider whether there is any such thing as a safe secure job. If there is what industries are likely to be secure for a longer period of time? If there are alternatives to a job then what alternatives have you looked into?
Dont assume that because you were brought up to think that a job offers the only way to earn an honest living that this is necessarily the only way in the 21st century!
