Like most people who wanted to create a six figure income from home and quit their jobs I got involved in an MLM business a few years back with a company called Quixtar. Now like most Quixtar Ibo’s I was so eager to really start generating the money that they talked about that I was going to do whatever it meant to make this successful. If I had to talk to a million people go to thousands of conventions and by hundreds of tapes and books gosh darn it I was going to make it work. What was never told to me is that the training system that they use is nothing but a marketing ploy to keep the masses buying the training materials and attending the conventions. Now books that offer for you to buy are some good books to keep you motivated but the conventions were nothing more than a whole bunch of rah rah and not enough information on how to correctly grow your business. Now I know some people may be offended by this but the truth is that over 85 of the IBO’S are not making any money and I was one of them. I am actually thankful for getting involved in Quixtar because I really got a chance to understand the industry and why so many fail at it. I am going to give you the two biggest reasons.
1. Marketing: Every IBO is taught the same way. Make a list of family and friends and pass out DVD’s or tapes. Now if you were marketing a traditional business that way you would probably have to shut down because it would not be effective for you. You have to apply effective marketing with an effective compensation plan to make it work. Their are traditional ways like radionewspaper magazines and yes the internet which is probably the greatest median for the IBO to be effective in building their business. Its all about the new ways of marketing and not the old school marketing tactics that so many in quixtar are using which are just obsolete.
2. The System: The system is nothing more than a motivational system. What tape or book you ever read in that system showed you how article marketing or video marketing could bring you hundreds of people to your website without bugging or harassing them. Did the system show you how to combine web 2.0 technology to get more people to your website for free. If you are paying so much for the system then it should be creating more results for the IBO or the system should be totally shut down and revamped.
So IBO’s if your left wondering why the system is not working for you start searching online to find a good mentor to show you how to use today’s technology to grow your business more effectively.
