Upper Saddle River NJ May 8 2008 The Internal Revenue Service IRS recently issued a revised version of the Form 990 to be used by taxexempt organizations. Based on public feedback a final version has been implemented for reporting years starting in 2008. Several key changes address executive compensation the organizations conflict of interest policy payment to independent contractors and the definition of related organizations. Furthermore the revised Form 990 will be phased in over three 3 years and includes new stipulations with respect to electronic filing. Tax Year: 2008
Size of Organization: Gross annual receipts between 25000 and 1M and total assets below 2.5 M
Notes: Required to file a new electronic postcard Form 990N beginning in tax year 2008. Threshold is annual receipts under 25000
Tax Year: 2009
Size of Organization: Gross annual receipts between 25000 and 500000 and total assets below 1.25 M
Notes: Required to file a new electronic postcard Form 990N beginning in tax year 2009. Threshold is annual receipts under 25000
Tax Year: 2010 onward
Size of Organization: Gross annual receipts between 50000 and 200000 and total assets below 500000.

There are three 3 key features that differ from the previous version of the form. First a summary page of identifying information focusing on financial compensation governance and operational information is now included.
